Honey Scorched Brussels Sprouts
Brussels Sprouts, fresh, split down the middle and scorched on the cut side. Glazed with honey.
Equipment
- 1 pan, saute, 12 inch nonstick, with lid
Ingredients
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, fresh
- 8 ounces water
- 2 ounces honey, sugar free, orange flavor
- 1/2 cube bouillon, chicken, Knorr or 8 ounces real chicken stock
- to taste pepper, black, ground
- as needed fat, spray-on pan lube
Instructions
- Wash and peel your sprouts. Cut in half through the stem1 pound Brussels sprouts, fresh
- Nuke your water, not honey, black pepper, and chicken cube. Mix to incorporate and ensure everything is dissolved.8 ounces water, 2 ounces honey, sugar free, orange flavor, 1/2 cube bouillon, chicken, Knorr, to taste pepper, black, ground
- Fire up your skillet on high heat. Lube it when hot.as needed fat, spray-on pan lube
- Place your sprouts in the pan, cut side down and ignore until you start to smell burned sprouts. Don't actually let them burn. Be sensible.1 pound Brussels sprouts, fresh
- Add your liquid. It will bubble vigorously so do be careful.
- Cover and let braise over low heat for 10 minutes.
- Uncover and let excess fluid cook off. Toss frequently. This is where the glaze comes from.
