Honey Scorched Brussels Sprouts

Equipment

  • 1 pan, saute, 12 inch nonstick, with lid

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, fresh
  • 8 ounces water
  • 2 ounces honey, sugar free, orange flavor
  • 1/2 cube bouillon, chicken, Knorr or 8 ounces real chicken stock
  • to taste pepper, black, ground
  • as needed fat, spray-on pan lube

Instructions
 

  • Wash and peel your sprouts. Cut in half through the stem

  • Nuke your water, not honey, black pepper, and chicken cube. Mix to incorporate and ensure everything is dissolved.
    8 ounces water, 2 ounces honey, sugar free, orange flavor, 1/2 cube bouillon, chicken, Knorr, to taste pepper, black, ground
  • Fire up your skillet on high heat. Lube it when hot.
    as needed fat, spray-on pan lube
  • Place your sprouts in the pan, cut side down and ignore until you start to smell burned sprouts. Don't actually let them burn. Be sensible.

  • Add your liquid. It will bubble vigorously so do be careful.
  • Cover and let braise over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Uncover and let excess fluid cook off. Toss frequently. This is where the glaze comes from.
