Week 4 Recap – Yikes!

It’s cool. I’m not panicking. I expected this, however not this soon. I have to assume my lack of progress this week is related to the massive amount of weight I moved during Covid. Based on consumption and movement, I should have lost 3.3 lbs. Instead, here I am, having only lost 1.4.

I could get really down about it, but the fact is, I did lose 1.4 lbs and that’s not terrible. Not really worth the lack of calories, but (net average per day, after exercise 1056), but I will not get concerned until next Monday’s weigh in. As stated, it could just be Covid effects. I could be retaining poop, though my restroom visits don’t indicate it. It could be I’m retaining water. I know I haven’t been drinking enough and in doing so, I’m not washing the salt out of my body. But it could be my body has noticed it’s starving and is hanging on to everything it can.

I can’t do anything about Covid. I’m not going to do anything about my bowels. I’ve increased my water intake. The starvation thing, well, that’s not something I can determine until next go around. Not enough data. If that is the case, I can go “off the rails” next weekend, convince my body everything is OK and start up again. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

So let’s look at the actual numbers:

  • Monday - 1295 calories total - Coffee, diet sausage wraps, diet jambalaya, two protein bevies and a banana.
  • Tuesday - 1237 calories total - Coffee, diet jambalaya (I had re-shoots), diet meatloaf & squash, a banana, a protein bevie, and a ham taco.
  • Wednesday - 1367 calories total - Coffee, diet meatloaf tacos, Raisin Bran (not worth it), a protein bevie, 5 slices of ham and two tortillas.
  • Thursday - 1309 calories total - Coffee, boring ass egg tacos, teriyaki chicken and veg, yogurt and a tortilla.
  • Friday - 1284 calories total - Coffee, meatloaf tacos, yogurt, and ham tacos.
  • Saturday - 1275 calories total - Coffee, pinto beans & cauliflower rice, yogurt, and chicken tacos.
  • Sunday - 1283 calories total - Coffee, mole poblano chicken tacos, yogurt, baby Normandy blend, and a bonus taco.

As far as the site went, I finally had to make utility chicken, which I managed to do without having beer. Much harder than I’m comfortable with. I did manage to get the Lexicon page put up, so that’s nice. Oh, and the smokey chicken mole poblano tacos. I made those and did a couple shorts on Youtube. I also signed up for a couple affiliate programs, so that’s nice, too. I may not have lost as much weight as I wanted, but at least I’ve been productive.

I have a post I’ve been hanging on to for a little bit. Just don’t know if it has the right tone for the site or not. Part of why I’m doing this is to separate myself from my professional past. The problem is, if you aren’t in on the context, it can come across as a little off kilter. So that one may never see the light of day.

I also haven’t done any reviews or just video blog entries because I’m not really in the review ill-advised beverage way on account of the diet. And I don’t have a lot to say in a video blog post. I need to get out and do some stuff to generate ideas, but I’ve had the Rona. I’m better, but the wife now has it.

My Offspring should be visiting this week, so hopefully something will come out of that. Time will tell.
